Finland Hosts NATO's First Maneuvers

Finland will conduct large-scale artillery exercises for NATO starting Sunday, marking the first time since joining the alliance last year.

The exercises will take place over the course of a week in the province of Kymenlaakso, in the southwest of the country. About 4,000 military personnel from 13 NATO member countries and partner nations are expected to participate.

As emphasized by the organizers, the aim of the exercise is to improve cooperation between NATO forces and Finnish armed forces.

"These exercises allow us to build a better understanding of how different national artillery systems work and to exchange experiences and knowledge," said the commander of Finnish artillery.
