The South Korean company Kia is selling the EV4 electric car in Europe, in both hatchback and sedan versions. As Bertola added, the light scent of gasoline adds a long-lasting but subtle touch to the perfume, which tends to have a jasmine-like fragrance. An air freshener that revives the smells of internal combustion engines might seem strange, but some electric cars are adding a sound generator for the engine and gearbox to bring the driving experience closer to that of traditional cars. A Finnish car importing company has launched a gasoline-scented air freshener for buyers of the new Kia EV4 electric car in Finland. The transition to an electric car requires some adjustment from users accustomed to conventional cars, and some may feel nostalgic for what the Finnish car importer 'Astarra Auto Finland' described as a 'light scent of oil and gasoline that reminds us of a car workshop'. This solution is unique in Finland. The company's marketing team said in a press release last October that this option is available to customers who may have already switched to an electric car if the scent experience is similar to their traditional car. Finnish perfumer Max Bertola said he was inspired by the smell of Kia's South Korean car engine oil base for the new freshener, noting that he has developed fragrances for other luxury brands. Klaus Bohjala from Astarra Auto Finland said: 'Of course, it's a somewhat bold campaign,' acknowledging that the South Korean car manufacturer Kia aims to add a touch of fun to drivers of its new electric cars.
